Our dresses are on the silver screen in the fabulous upcoming film ‘The Artist’ which has received excellent reviews and THE BEST ACTOR AWARD at Cannes. It stars Jean Dujardin, Bérénice Bejo, John Goodman and James Cromwell. It premiers in Paris in October and is widely being talked about by critics as an Oscar contender. The costume designer for the film, Mark Bridges, was also the costume designer for ‘There will be blood‘ with Daniel Day-Lewis and really liked our dresses. They are all through the movie. Nearly every time someone is wearing a beaded dress in the movie it is a LELUXE!!! Check out the trailer for the film:
We’re pleased to announce that an exclusive range of 1920’s inspired fascinators will be added to our site in the coming weeks, some in the pre-order section and some in the what’s in stock now? section. These gorgeous pieces (one of which is shown in the picture above) have been created by a UK milliner that specializes in hats and fascinators from the era and they beautifully compliment our range of dresses. Part of the range will be bridal head pieces together with some limited edition pieces using real vintage embellishments, unique one offs when they’re gone they’re gone, and to top it all off, the color ranges will match our dresses, so pop back soon!
Our Vamp dress and Clara gown were recently featured in Westcountry weddings!
We just received our first sample for the Hollywood Collection!
The Lulu gown is a reproduction of a stunning gown worn by Louise Brooks. Made of 100% silk, we added a superfine beaded fringe to the skirt for extra luxury.
We’re currently taking pre-orders. This gown will be available mid-summer in both white and black.
We did a limited run of our popular vintage style slips in 100% silk. They finally arrived!
We have both the 1920’s drop waist and the 1930’s bias cut styles in black, pale silver, and pale gold. They feel absolutely heavenly. Paired with one of our beaded gowns….true luxe!
I went bowling in Hollywood the other day and couldn’t resist taking a shot of Mary Pickford’s hands and feet with my iPhone. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but her hands and feet are like a child’s….so tiny!
We were so thrilled to be a part of Vicky Rowe’s wedding last August in the Welsh countryside! It was so spectacular, Cosmopolitan Bride has run a story in this month’s magazine. The photography by Rosie Parsons is truly stunning. It makes our heart melt to see our gowns in this truly romantic setting.
Vicky owns a fabulous vintage china/special event styling business in the UK (http://www.vintageteasets.co.uk). Wish she were here in the States!
Italian jazz and swing singer, Vanessa Tagliabue, performing in our Vamp gown. Please check out her links for a real musical treat!
We just received some chevron tabard gowns made with a new “velvet” sequin. Wow! They’re more expensive than our regular sequins and worth every penny! They give such an antique feel. We had only a few samples made in garnet, amethyst, sapphire, emerald, bronze, and silver.
Look forward to more gowns with velvet sequins….we love them!
